The Firebirds return home to the Dort Federal Event Center this Wednesday, Nov. 22 against in-state rival, the Saginaw Spirit. Wednesday’s game at 7 p.m. marks the second “College Night” this season, featuring $2 beers and $2 hot dogs for all fans in attendance and for the first time, $2 Firebirds’ Golden Ales. All college students with valid identification will also receive $2 off admission.
Additionally, the Firebirds have partnered with C&L Ward for the club’s third-annual “Stuff the Truck” drive, where fans can bring in food, toiletries and winter wear to benefit the Catholic Charities of Shiawassee and Genesee Counties. Fans can bring in either (5) non-perishable food items, (3) bath towels, (1) blanket or (1) coat to either Catholic Charities Center for Hope, C&L Ward Store in Davison, North End Soup Kitchen or the Firebirds Merchandise Store at the Dort Federal Event Center to receive a free ticket to this Wednesday’s game. Flint holds a 10-6-0-2 all-time record against Saginaw and have not lost in regulation on home-ice, posting a 6-0-0-2 record in Flint. The Firebirds have successfully secured the Coors Light I-75 Divide Cup for the two seasons of its existence after notching identical 5-2-0-1 records in the past two years.
Presented by King’s Catering, Wednesday evening’s dinner menu for the Blue Line Club features a 12 ounce New York Strip Steak (grilled to order), garden asparagus, baked potato, grilled vegetables, dinner rolls, mixed green salad and for dessert, apple pie and chocolate silk pie.
