5 reasons to be at the Firebirds’ Game vs. London Thursday

Flint, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds return back to action after the Christmas break this Thursday, Dec. 28 at the Dort Federal Event Center in Flint. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. against the London Knights.

Here are five reasons for you to attend this Thursday night’s game in Flint:

  1. It is the Firebirds’ first home game in nearly two weeks. The Firebirds last played at home on Dec. 15 and will not have another home game again until Jan. 6.
  1. It’s the perfect game for college students who are home for the holidays. Thursday’s game is the fourth “College Night” this season, featuring $2 beers and $2 hot dogs for all fans in attendance. All college students with valid identification will also receive $2 off admission.
  1. Nine players have either been drafted and/or signed by NHL teams on Flint and London’s active roster’s: Flint’s Fedor Gordeev (Toronto Maple Leafs), Nick Mattinen (Toronto Maple Leafs) and Jalen Smereck (Arizona Coyotes) as well as London’s Alex Formenton (Ottawa Senators), Jacob Golden (Minnesota Wild), Max Jones (Anaheim Ducks), Sam Miletic (Pittsburgh Penguins), Cliff Pu (Buffalo Sabres) and Robert Thomas (St. Louis Blues). Both Thomas and Jones were picked in the first-round of the NHL Draft.
  1. Grand Blanc native Dalton Duhart, the son of former Flint Generals’ enforcer, Jim Duhart, will be making his first visit to Flint as a rookie forward in the OHL with the London Knights.
