Firebirds’ Third Annual Orientation Camp Details Announced

Flint, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds Hockey Club announced today the details for the third-annual orientation camp to be held this Friday, Apr. 21 through Sunday, Apr. 23 at Flint Iceland Arenas on Elms Rd. in Clayton Township.

The Firebirds will welcome 34 prospects to Flint for fitness testing, four on-ice sessions and tours of the Dort Federal Event Center and Genesee County. Firebirds’ newly drafted prospects from the 2017 OHL Priority Selection and 2017 U-18 Priority Selection, prospects from previous OHL Priority Selections, as well as free agent invites will be in attendance. There will be two teams of 10 forwards, five defenseman and two goaltenders. Both teams will practice Friday evening before playing each other twice on Saturday and once on Sunday morning.

Fans can meet General Manager Barclay Branch, the coaching staff and the Firebirds’ prospects this Saturday, Apr. 22. Join us for the ‘Firebirds Tailgate Party’ from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. featuring complimentary hot dogs and drinks, a kids fun zone and a special season ticket holder hospitality area. Fans are also invited to attend the Firebirds Blue vs. White scrimmage at 3:30 p.m. at Flint Iceland Arenas this Saturday. This event is free, open to the public and will happen rain or shine.

Friday, April 21st:
2:00pm – Medicals / Equipment / Testing / Photos (Dort Federal Event Center)
5:45pm – Team Blue Practice (Iceland Arenas)
6:45pm – Team White Practice (Iceland Arenas)

Saturday, April 22nd:
9:30am – Team White vs. Team Blue (Iceland Arenas)
2:00pm – Firebirds Tailgate Party (Iceland Arenas)
3:30pm – Team Blue vs. Team White (Iceland Arenas)
5:00pm – Player/Staff BBQ Meet & Greet (Iceland Arenas)

Sunday, April 23rd:
9:30am – Team White vs. Team Blue (Iceland Arenas)
