Flint, Mich. – The Flint Firebirds announced today that the club has completed a trade with the Oshawa Generals.
In the trade, the Firebirds receive Oshawa’s fifth-round pick in the 2020 OHL Draft. In return, the Firebirds trade defenseman Alex Di Carlo to the Generals.
“Alex has had an excellent start to the season both on and off the ice,” said Flint Firebirds General Manager George Burnett. “This is a great opportunity for him to continue his OHL career with a strong organization in Oshawa. With four defenseman currently 19 years of age or older, this move will continue to allow our younger players appropriate development opportunities.”
The Flint Firebirds would like to thank Alex Di Carlo and his family for their contributions to the club and wish him the best of luck in Oshawa.
After posting 4-0 and 2-0 victories in Flint last week, the Firebirds look to stay perfect on home ice this weekend as the club hosts the Sarnia Sting at 7 p.m. (ET) on Saturday and the Ottawa 67’s at 4 p.m. on Sunday at the newly renovated Dort Federal Event Center in Flint, Mich.
