Promotions: Trading Card giveaway, Talk Today game & CANUSA offer on-tap for Friday

Flint, Mich. – The Firebirds return home for a pair of games this weekend beginning Friday night against the Hamilton Bulldogs. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. (ET) at the Dort Federal Credit Union Event Center in Flint.

Friday marks the second-ever official ‘Flint Firebirds trading card pack giveaway,’ compliments of Commercial Graphics, for the first 1,000 fans in attendance.  Friday will be the second-of-three sets released this season. The second edition of these one-of-a-kind collectible card packs feature: Tyler Deline, Jake Durham, Marcus Gretz, Evgeniy Oksentyuk, Brennan Othmann, Connor Roberts, Jack Wismer, Quinn Yule and assistant coach Ryan Kuwabara

Additionally, Friday is the Firebirds annual ‘Talk Today’ game. The Flint Firebirds, the Ontario Hockey League and the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), Windsor Essex County Branch are teaming up to raise awareness about the importance of mental health. A CMHA-run kiosk along with Hurley Hospital, Genesse Health Systems, Helping Hand Autism Center and National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will have tables set up to encourage discussion on the arena concourse so fans can learn more about mental health. Pictures featuring Flint Firebirds players promoting the importance of mental health, including public address announcements and video board messages will be played throughout the event.

The Firebirds are also offering discounted $10 Silver Level tickets to all Canada-USA (CANUSA) participants along with family members & friends wearing CANUSA apparel (must wear jersey or t-shirt to receive offer at Box Office Window). Of note, for the past 63 years since 1957, the cities of Flint, Michigan and Hamilton, Ontario have partnered for the CANUSA Games (Canada vs. USA), providing the youth (and adults) of both cities an opportunity to participate in international friendship games. During that time, the two cities have officially become “sister cities” which are cities that partner with each other to promote human contact and cultural links.

Also, fans can take advantage of the ‘Firebirds 4-Pack Friday,’ featuring 4 tickets, 4 hot dogs and 4 soft drinks, starting at just $60. Firebirds 4-Pack packages are only available for Friday games in advance of game day.
