I. POSITION SUMMARY:
A Flint Firebirds Ice Crew team member will be a member of a professional, high-energy ice maintenance and interactive team. Team members will be out-going, athletic, experienced skaters who are interested in ice maintenance and extremely comfortable on camera in a high-energy hockey environment.
II. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Members in the group are responsible for skating on the ice to remove snow and ice build-up during media timeouts.
Execute in-game promotions including, but not limited to, t-shirt tosses, game ceremonies, and intermission contests.
Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
III. SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience working in an ice rink setting and comfortable in front of large crowds preferred.
Crew members will be proficient ice-skaters.
Candidates will possess an outgoing personality, high energy, positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, professionalism, poise, strong communication abilities, strong work ethic and reliability.
IV. OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Ice Crew Interactive Team members will need to be at least 18 years of age, have their own skates, need to have a flexible schedule and the ability to work irregular hours, various shifts, nights, weekends and holidays that allows for 95% availability for Flint Firebirds hockey games, arriving at least 1.5 hours before the puck drop and staying through the end of the game.
The ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required.
Ability to work in various climates based on the environment (including cold weather).
Must have the ability to stand or sit in one location for a minimum of four hours at a time.
Must have the legal right to work in the US.
Must have the ability to read, write and understand English in a working environment.
